https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lmfBgX7aJAWeqYyoxDDlP7G9Z6UxIEE3/viewIn order to generate interest in scientific research among school students, Shoqan Walikhanov Private School LLP, invites you to take part in the Republican Scientific Forum (hereinafter referred to as the Forum) of young scientists Shoqan Ecology, which will be held on February 25-26, 2023. Grade 8–11 students of secondary and specialized schools of Kazakhstan can participate in the Forum. The main goal of the Forum is to increase the school students’ awareness of research activity, develop their research skills and the ability for independent search for information, stimulate their intellectual and creative potential, increase their interest in education and science, and identify talented students.

Impartiality and academic integrity will be the governing principles for the competent and independent judges who will assess the students’ work. The judges will aim for professional evaluation of the performance of the contestants excluding a rude, tactless and/or biased attitude toward the Forum participants.

During the forum the participants will present reports of theoretical, experimental and applied nature in such areas of science as chemistry, biology, physics, and ecology. The reports are aimed at solving the following problems:

• Air Pollution/Air Quality: Situation assessment and search for solutions to air pollution caused by unwanted chemicals or other materials.
• Soil Pollution /Soil Quality: Situation assessment and search for solutions to soil contamination caused by persistent toxic compounds, radioactive materials or disease causing agents that adversely affect plant growth and the health of living organisms.
• Water Pollution/Water Quality: Situation assessment and search for solutions to pollution of water resources caused by contaminants of anthropogenic and natural origin.
• Waste management (reduce-recycle-reuse): Waste prevention or “pollution source reduction”. Search for durable materials as free from toxic substances as possible; alternative design of products aimed at less use of raw materials in production; increase of durability or reuse time after initial use of a product.
• Public health: Situation assessment and search for solutions to public health problems caused by environmental degradation.

The languages of the Forum are Kazakh, Russian, and English.

To take part in the Forum, you need to send a single .docx/.pdf file (max size under 19 mb) to the organizing committee email (shoqanecology@shoqanschool.kz) by January 27, 2023, until 17.00. The document must contain:

• Application for participation in the Forum
• Scientific work without a title page that meets the requirements for its design
• Title page of the scientific work
• Registration fee payment receipt of ₸15,000
